You’ve probably heard the term “Nitrox” or seen some cool divers with bright green & yellow stickers on their tanks, but do you know what that is? Enriched Air/Nitrox is a blend of special air.
 Nitrox has a higher proportion of Oxygen than the regular air that we breathe. When diving with Nitrox, you bottom time increases dramatically and you surface intervals decrease making it possible to dive longer and more times consecutively. Nitrox is most effective in the 40-80 ft range, where most recreational diving takes place anyway. Depending on the mix and depth you could see your time under the water more than double.
In the Enriched Air/Nitrox course you’ll learn how to:
- Select the best mixture for the type of diving you have planned.
- How to safely scuba dive using blended gas.
- The limits and as with any type of diving, the emergency procedures.
- Special equipment associated with Enriched Air/Nitrox scuba diving.
Nitrox allows you to do more of what you got into diving for – you can stay under water longer and get back in sooner! Many divers also find that diving with Nitrox they feel less tired and usually don’t experience the common head ache that regular air gives.
